John 14:27-31A Reflection – Soften Troubled Hearts | Immersive Prayer
Throughout recorded history, there have been many periods where the world is unsettled. There are constant significant disruptions by the destructive power of the “ruler of the world” (Satan) with wars, genocide, and terrorism. Each day brings new situations that can place us in opposing views of friends and families. Stressful conditions close to our hearts appear as side effects of how we live our personal lives, but we do not have to feel all is lost or irreparable. To quote John of the Cross, “In tribulation, immediately draw near to God with confidence, and you will receive strength, enlightenment, and instruction.” Prayer and time with Christ can conquer the range of disruption and fear to unconditionally soften troubled hearts and fill us with peace, love, healing grace, compassion, and mercy.
