Luke 8:19-21 Reflection – Just Be or Act on the Word

Reflection on Luke 8:19-21~

We often hear the expression brothers (and/or sisters) when someone starts a talk in a fraternal organization, during sermons, and in St. Paul’s letters.  Jesus (as Paul also does) is speaking to the spiritual membership of us as brothers and sisters in our own community and the body of the communion of saints. This love filled membership here on earth and the entire cosmos of God is inclusive to all who hear, then “just be” or act with the Word for anyone in need.

The True Kindred of Jesus

19 Then his mother and his brothers came to him, but they could not reach him because of the crowd. 20 And he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.” 21 But he said to them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”
