It took almost five decades to understand that I could not hear sounds above a normal frequency range. When I first put on hearing aids, tears of joy overwhelmed me as I heard various new sounds. One of the most beautiful was the music of evening tree frogs. This kind of radical change was not new to me. Years earlier, one of my learning disabilities was suddenly offset after unrelated deep prayer. When needed, we can quickly recall these types of moments, and Jesus's grace will give us the confidence to ignore what is in our heads and trust the output. In comfortable situations, we can share the results (details are unnecessary) of moments when we have been astounded beyond measure because of God's intervention.
