Dwelling Places – John 14:1-6 Reflection
Horizons are a fascinating faith concept. Depending on the environmental conditions, it can seem that as we approach a horizon, it approaches us, or the horizon moves with us as we move. On top of a mountain or in an airplane, the horizon seems able to change the perceived distance. The height above sea level determines the maximum distance due to the earth’s curvature. In our mind, we can put a finger at just the right point in front of us to appear to touch it. Using a horizon as a metaphor, we know heaven, but we are not yet able to see or touch the dwelling places Christ tells us the Father has for us.

John 14:1-6 – Scripture*
Jesus the Way to the Father
14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And you know the way to the place where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
