Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Her will she gave, her love of God, set us free
May it be done to me according to Your word
And the Word became flesh, Satan conquered
Now forever, blessed art thou among women,
We rejoice, new Eve, new garden, life again
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus
A new church, endless life, all is luminous
Pray in confidence for Mary’s intercession
To be our hope, our guide towards her son
Holy mother, let me join with your holy yes
Let me stand at the Cross in raw bareness
Your anguish in the moment still felt today
We too sometimes watch unfairness at play
Abandoned, none but you to stop the crowd
Hold my hand, so my actions may be loud
During reciting a Rosary I felt deeply joined with Mary watching Christ in his humility. There left behind to watch among the group of woman was Mary, her silent voice adding depth to the moment. As each Hail Mary gained in strength towards the mystery my mind mediated on the “what ifs”. What if the crowd had stood up to prevent Jesus’s death on the Cross. Would the results have been the same? Would my journey of trying to be like Jesus had the strength it does today. I have formed my own answers to these questions. For now I have the patience to see if I am right when I meet God face to face. In the meantime, I continue to ask Mary to join with me in prayer that I to might have the courage to be like her.
