Come to the Light – Reflection on Luke 8:16-18
Jesus’s light invites us deeper into the silence of hearing the Word and being entirely with God, without distractions. In this “place,” our hearts become engulfed in what St. John of the Cross calls the Living Flame of Love. The more time and space we give God, the more love we can receive. However, receiving is only part of the mystery of love that becomes revealed and increased. If you are willing to “come to the light” and then quietly give it all away, you will witness the signature of the mingling of human and Divine within yourself.

Luke 8:16-18 – Scripture*
A Lamp under a Jar
16 “No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. 17 For nothing is hidden that will not be disclosed, nor is anything secret that will not become known and come to light. 18 Then pay attention to how you listen; for to those who have, more will be given; and from those who do not have, even what they seem to have will be taken away.”
